The National Debt
You will be participating in a classroom debate tomorrow. The debate will follow the four-corners format in which a statement is posted and you will need to initially respond by choosing one of the four corners (Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree) in which to begin your arguments.
You do not know ahead of time what the statement will be; therefore, you will need to be prepared to argue your opinion from several perspectives. The Debate Planner document will help you organize your information and your facts. It will be collected for a grade.
Essentially, the argument at hand revolves around the current national debt, the debt ceiling, and ways in which the U.S. can resolve the issues surrounding the debt and the economy.
Use reliable sources for your research. There are many, many strong opinions out there in the blogs, and many stretch the truth. As an AP student you don't need me to show you how to conduct research correctly, but two of the sites I found useful were;
